Toronto Raptors Report: Week One

As I have said before, each week I will do a brief report on the Raptors' performance that week. So, here's where Toronto stands after their first week of play.

Record : 1-2

Performance on scale of 1-10 : 6.5

Positives : After beating the team with the best record in the league last year in the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Raptors seemed to be off to a good start. Playing defense to create offense, passing the ball, moving it well.

Chris Bosh has been absolutely spectacular this season and looks poised to prove critics wrong about their assessment of him as a "soft" player.

Negatives : After the first game versus the Cavs, the Raptors defense went AWOL. After losing to the Memphis Grizzlies, a very beatable team, they gave up 125 points to the Orlando Magic. That just isn't going to win you many games.

Overall, the Raptors are a very potent offensive team and I wouldn't call this week terrible considering they are just starting to get it together. They have had many shining moments and those should be remembered. If they show the grit they had in the first game every night, watch out.
