Favre: 2 Ted Thompson: 0
We did it! A season sweep of the Packers, I can't recall the last time I remember that happening. The game started with a round of enthusiastic and loud boos for Favre. The pathetic thing is they booed Favre harder than they cheered their own QB Aaron Rodgers. The more and more we get into the season the more and more the Packers remind me of that clingy ex-girlfriend that goes out of her way to rip on her ex-boyfriend. Favre of course being that ex-boyfriend that's too cool for his ex and has moved on while it's clear his ex hasn't.
After the boos the fireworks began as the Vikings jumped out to a 14-3 lead and extended it to 17-3 before halftime after more non-aggressive play calling by Childress. After we scored on the opening drive of the third quarter it looked like it was going to be a route. However, as Lee Corso says, "not so fast my friend." The ex-girlfrien...err the Packers had other ideas. The fought back to make it 24-20. Now the old Vikings fall apart there. That game is over. These new Vikings drive down and make it 31-20. However the Pack weren't done as they score on a touchdown. They decide to go for the 2 and fail.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
We get the ball back and go three and out. At this point Viking nation is panicking. The Packers were hot and they were getting the ball back with the chance for the lead. Thankfully choke job Mason Crosby missed a 51 yard field goal. After a 44 yard catch and run by Adrian Peterson we are on the 15. Chillyball takes effect. We run it twice for -1 yard. The old Vikings run it again and settle for the FG attempt. The Favre led Vikings go for the first down and end up with a Touchdown, thus putting the game out of reach.
This win heading into the bye week fells sweet. At 7-1 we are much better than I had anticipated at the beginning of the year. I had us at 5-3, and possibly 6-2 at this point. A few lucky bounces our way and we are 8-0, though I'll take 7-1 with a season sweep over the Packers thus essentially eliminating them from the divisional race. We have a pretty cupcake schedule coming out of the bye so I like our chances to be 10-1 after 11 games which might be good enough to put the bow on the division at that point. At some point the Saints have to lose at some point, I just don't see them going undefeated. Lets all hope they lose to a conference opponent which would give us a tie break advantage over them.
Another thing I want to say is this game must feel pretty damn sweet to Brett Favre after that reception he got from the crowd. I mean how he doesn't get eaten by nerves and emotions is beyond me. He kept his composure and threw for a season high 4 touchdowns, zero sacks and no interceptions. He has played lights out on both occasions against Green Bay.
I'm looking forward to the bye, I need it. The cardiac Vikes are going to give me a heart attack. The Vikes need the bye week to rest up and prepare for the stretch run to the playoffs!
