NFL Week Eight Picks and Predictions
Last week - 9-4
Overall - 56-32
There is not a week in the NFL that I hate more than the Steelers bye week. Lucky for Steelers fans, there is some VERY good football to be watched. Between the Favres and the Packers, and the Broncos vs the Ravens, I will finally have a week that I can enjoy, rather than yelling at the TV.

Five Star picks of the week
Houston @ Buffalo
I don't know what to think about the Bills. They win when they should lose, and lose when they should win. I do know about the Texans. At 4-3, the Texans sit at second in the AFC South. I predicted that they would push for a playoff spot, and with the Titans faltering, the Texans will continue to win.
Texans win 27-13.
Carolina @ Arizona
The team that started the Panthers downward spiral hosts those same Panthers this week. The defense of the Cardinals is surprising, and will continue to abuse their opponents this week. Watch for Julius Peppers to get a lot of pressure against Kurt Warner, but not enough.
Cardinals win 31-17.
Seattle @ Dallas
With more injuries than a MASH unit, the Seahawks have lost more starters this year than any team should have to endure. They still have to play the game, and the Cowboys are going to take advantage of it.
Cowboys win 31-10.
Cleveland @ Chicago
Some people will say that the Browns took the Bengals to the last seconds of overtime a few weeks ago, while the Bengals destroyed the Bears last week. Sorry, I am not buying that. The Browns are just a bad team, and the Bears are playing at home with their playoff hopes in the balance.
Bears win 27-6.
San Francisco @ Indianapolis
As the 49ers settle in with Alex Smith, who lit the Texans up in the second half last week, think they have a chance. WRONG! It is one thing to come in, in relief, and have a good half. It is another thing when a team has a week to prepare for you, which the Colts have.
Colts win 28-14.
Trap Games
St. Louis @ Detroit
Can I pick a tie? Seriously though, the Rams are this years version of the 2008 Lions. If the Rams don't win this game, they may finish 0-16. The Lions, playing at home, are actually favored to win this game, which is the only time they are going to be favored in a while. Stafford is back, and Bulger is expected to play.
Lions win 13-7.
Oakland @ San Diego
Amazingly, the Richard Seymore predicted they would go to the playoffs this year, the lost to the Jets 38-0. San Diego is not playing great, but they are playing a lot better than the Raiders.
Chargers win 27-10.
Miami @ New York Jets
I am not sure what to think about the Jets. I am not going to say they are great because the last time I did, they got killed. After losing Chad Pennington, the Dolphins are not the same. Which Jets team will show up for the Jets? I think the good ones.
Jets win 22-16.
New York Giants @ Philadelphia
This game could go a long way towards deciding who will win the NFC East. One way or another, between this game, and the World Series game 4, also in Philadelphia, I hope Philly has a LOT of security.
Eagles win 28-24.
Jacksonville @ Tennessee
The Titans are having a ton of internal turmoil this year. Between starting 0-6 and having Jeff Fischer wearing a Peyton Manning jersey, saying he wants to feel like a winner is bad enough.
When the owner says he wants Vince Young to play, and the coach supporting Kerry Collins, things are not good in Tennessee. Things will get no better this weekend, regardless of who is under center.
Jaguars win 24-10.
Minnesota @ Green Bay
Forgetting about the whole Brett Favre ordeal, this is shaping up to be a great game. The Packers are looking to tie the Vikings for the NFC North lead, while the Vikings are looking to sweep the Packers, and take a three game lead in the division. If the Vikings play like they did against the Steelers, passing 51 times, and not using the best running back in the game, the results will be the same. But that won't happen.
Vikings win 31-21.
Upset Special
Denver @ Baltimore
The Broncos are undefeated, and the Ravens are 3-3, and the Ravens are favored? I am not sure how Vegas figured this one out, but they are wrong. Baltimore is no longer the defensive power house they used to be, and the Broncos offense can put the points of the board.
Broncos win 24-17.
Atlanta @ New Orleans
In a divisional game, with the Falcons needing a win to keep pace with the currently undefeated Saints, the Falcons are getting 10 points. Not only will they cover, but will win outright. I might be picking this the other way if Reggie Bush did not say the Saints were going to go undefeated.
Falcons win 31-28.
