Player ratings
Lukas Fabianski:7.5: A strong comeback performance. Was a little caught out for the Liverpool goal but there was no denying it was a phenomanal strike. After that ordeal handled every thing that was thrown at him and pulled off a few vital saves. Wenger will have serious problems picking a first choice keeper.
Kerrea Gilbert:7.5: Kept the right relatively tidy and got forward when needed. A little shaky at times but all in all a solid performance. Great persistent's and determination ensured he had a hand in the first goal.
Philippe Senderos:7.5: His imposing height and strong passing were evident as the Swiss handled most of the Liverpool attack with ease.
Mikeal Silvestre:7.5: Lead from the front and though a little shaky at times defended with power.
Kieran Gibbs:8 : A strong effort on the left. Way to quick and strong for the Liverpool attacks that came his way and always made sure his presence was felt in attack.
Craig Eastmond:7.5: A debut the youngster can be proud off. Defended well and also played some lovely passes. Certainly a future with the Gunners.
Aaron Ramsey:7: For every easy on the eye move he set up there was a lazy, out of concentration pass. A very good attacking display from the Welshmen and had a major hand in the second goal. He will no doubt feature heavily in the future for Wenger but he needs get rid of his lazyness.
Samir Nasri:8.5: It was an honour to see the hugely talented Frenchmen make such a brave return. Most felt he would be tentative after breaking his leg but the former Marseille man ran and ran and looked ever so dangerous. Can't way to see him back in the first team.
Nicklas Bendtner:7.5: What can you say. The Dane can frustrate the hell out of you with his clumsy passing and failure to hit the target but then he makes you jump for joy with the magic he creates. The winning goal was outstanding and as soon as the clumsy play is out of his game he will be a goalscoring machine.
Fran Merida:8.5: An abouslute stunner of a strike to open the scoring and the Spainard was always a threat with the ball. Is blessed with a sweet passing range and has decent speed. You can see why some compare him to Cesc Fabregas.
Eduardo Da Silva:7.5: A relatively quiet first half but was a dangerous force throughout the second. Some good chances and was unlucky not to be on the score sheet.
Substitutes
Sanchez Watts:6: Unlucky not to have a penalty in his favour but did show he can be silky and strong in the box.
Mark Randall:N/A: Limited opportunity but did run hard
Francis Coquelin:N/A: Little time but will undoubedtly be a huge hit for Arsenal
