Power Rankings Week 8: The Saint Are Marching
There is a clear gap between the best and the worst. Going into Week 8 there will be some more blow outs, but we have some good match ups, with Farve going back to Green Bay, the Saints against the Falcons and the Giants and Eagles.
1. New Orleans Saints (6-0)
I am still shaking my head at the Dolphin’s time out with 5 seconds left in the half. Saints can hit you quick from all angles.

2. Denver Broncos (6-0)
The Broncos coming off their bye week have some more tough opponents starting with Baltimore.
3. Indianapolis Colts (6-0)
Earlier in the season critics said the Broncos didn’t play anyone yet and weren’t tested. The Broncos' opponents record is 20-20 the Colts is 11-26. With that said, the Colts are winning big against those easy opponents.
4. New England Patriots (5-2)
Playing the Bucs and Titans after the Bronco loss is just what the Doctor ordered.
5. Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2)
Pittsburgh's defense game through big with 2 fourth quarter touchdowns.
6. Minnesota Vikings (6-1)
The good news is the Packers give up more rushing yards than the Steelers, but the bad news is they give up less passing yards. Good luck!
7. Cincinnati Bengals (5-2)
Cedric Benson leads the league in rushing yards. They head into a bye week at 5-2.
8. Dallas Cowboys (4-2)
Only the Saints have more yards per game. Quietly the Cowboys have put together a solid offense thanks to the awakening of Austin.
9. Arizona Cardinals (4-2)
3-0 on the road and they should handle the Panthers at home.
10. Philadelphia Eagles (4-2)
Eagles should send flowers to Randle El, but he would probably drop them. Should be a great matchup against the Giants.
11. Atlanta Falcons (4-2)
It doesn’t get any easier for the Falcon’s defense this week. They lost to the 2nd ranked offense now they play the 1st ranked.
12. Green Bay Packers (4-2)
Beating up the Browns is a good faux bye week, now its Farve’s welcome home party.
13. Houston Texans (4-3)
A very important game at Buffalo they could fall 4 games back of the Colts.
14. New York Giants (5-2)
The Giant’s had a pretty easy schedule so far now it will get bumpy.
15. New York Jets (4-3)
We’ll see if the Jet defense can stop the Wildcat this time when they host the Dolphins. I questioned the Ted Ginn jr. draft pick from the get go.
16. Baltimore Ravens (3-3)
Ravens will play the Broncos, Bengals, Colts, and Steelers. * note the Broncos and Bengals coming off a bye week when they play them.
17. San Diego Chargers (3-3)
The Chargers are playing well right now and they have won the last 12 meetings with Oakland.
18. San Francisco 49ers (3-3)
Season is not over, they are not far from being a quality team. Alex has been named the starter and Vernon Davis had a huge game.
19. Miami Dolphins (2-4)
They are better than their record says and don't think for a second that they can't beat the Jets again.
20. Buffalo Bills (3-4)
Bills are showing some life and still have a chance.
21. Chicago Bears (3-3)
After an embarrassing loss against the Bengals the Bears should make quick work of the Browns.
22. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-3)
They have the Titans and then home against the Chiefs, they should go to the Jets at 5-3.
23. Seattle Seahawks (2-4)
Julius Jones goes back to Dallas and they had a week to prepare.
24. Carolina Panthers (2-4)
At 9-6 you could make the playoffs in the NFC, however they are playing the #1 rated rushing defense.
25. Oakland Raiders (2-5)
Didn't score any but gave up a bunch to the Jets, might have the same result this week against the Chargers.
26. Detroit Lions (1-5)
Their defense is going to get better this week, they are playing the Rams.
27. Kansas City Chiefs (1-6)
With the 3rd pick of the 2010 draft the Chiefs select Sam Bradford.
28. Washington Redskins (2-5)
Offense out played Philadelphia but 4 turnovers cost them.
29. Cleveland Browns (1-6)
Eric Mangini should have his head examined for pulling Quinn for Anderson.
30. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-7)
Great move on getting rid of Gruden
31. Tennessee Titans (0-6)
Not sure if the Bye week did anything to remove the sting of a 59-0 loss.
32. St. Louis Rams (0-7)
I don’t think they should let Rush buy the Rams, I think they should give them to him. They lost 17 straight regular season games.
