Report: Giants CB Teddy Williams Requested Release Due to Family Health Issue
New York Giants cornerback Teddy Williams has requested his release while he deals with a family health issue.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported Williams plans to play in 2018 and hopes it's for the Giants. However, he requested the team release him to free up a roster spot while he is tending to the issue.
"Everyone affiliated with the Giants organization and especially Dave Gettleman have been absolutely incredible to us. Can not thank them enough on behalf of Teddy and his family," Williams' agent said on Twitter.
