Poem Dedicated to B/R Writer Kevin L. and Others Who Need Encouragement
Note: Many people young and old write about sports, while life's challenges sometimes press us to share, communicate and encourage each other. I was impressed to encourage Kevin and others, on this day and beyond.
Dedicated to those who love sports, their family members, and those who need encouragement.
CHEER UP, CHILDREN
Grow up, children ‘cause
All the years that mother stays
Are just a little while
When matched against the length of life
I’ll see when heaven bound.
Cheer up, children.
I gave my love abundantly
And nurtured all your dreams.
I cried with you, I prayed with you,
I soothed away your pains.
Face up, children.
Old mama’s worn, a little tired
My heart’s a little slow
But secretly, I pray you know
‘Cause you have needs, I know.
Now as I stay a little while
It’s in God’s hands, you know.
But children, let’s face the facts!
The God I serve is wonderful
His way is so exact!
He will not err in His concern
And love for you and me.
The God I serve is marvelous
His place is yet supreme
To any thing this earth can give,
To any man made thing.
I’ll see my Jesus face to face
And live eternally.
You’ll shed some tears,
That’s only right
Since on this side we shared
But, babies let’s face up to life
I’ve got my place up there.
My place is with the King of Kings,
A burden bearer, kind true Friend.
He’s with me now with His great power;
I pray to Jesus every hour.
As I grow old
I realize the times we had were good
But my God said that Heaven’s place
Is yet to be understood.
The Word of God is true you know
I do not doubt one bit.
Grow up, children
And think about the love God gave
To nurture your dear life
And think of His salvation which
Gave you eternal life.
God’s grace prevails
In your life now
As it did yesterday.
Pray more, children
‘Cause God’s will moves us day by day
Toward His eternal place.
‘Love you, children.
Amen, children.
