Fantasy Basketball: Week One Schedule
The majority of NBA teams play three games this week. There are seven exceptions.
Four Games
Boston Celtics : Rasheed Wallace, Big Baby Davis, and Marquis Daniels are worth considering for your opening fantasy lineup because of the extra game. Eddie House can be used if you need help in the three-pointers category but offers little help elsewhere.
Cleveland Cavaliers : Anthony Parker and Zydrunas Ilgauskas could make their way into your fantasy lineups this week. Big Z could see a boost if Shaq is limited in back-to-back games, which they have two this week. Daniel Gibson and Jamario Moon aren’t attractive options at this point. I don’t like starers Delonte West of Anderson Varejao either.
Los Angeles Clippers : Al Thornton and Eric Gordon, who aren’t every week fantasy starers, makes solid plays this week. Chris Kaman is the only one I trust this week off the bench for the Clippers.
UPDATE: Blake Griffin is out for several weeks with a patella fracture. Do not use him obviously.
Portland Trailblazers : Greg Oden is a constant injury risk, but he’s a decent gamble this week with the extra game. Rudy Fernandez and Travis Outlaw aren’t weekly starters, but make decent plays this week. Steve Blake is someone you can plug in if you need threes and assists.
Two Games
Indiana Pacers: Danny Granger and Troy Murphy are the only Pacers I'd use this week.
Milwaukee Bucks: Michael Redd and Andrew Bogut are the only Bucks I’d insert in a lineup this week.
Utah Jazz : Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer, Paul Millsap, Mehmet Okur, and Andrei Kirilenko are worth starting this week despite the short schedule.
