JR Smith Says Rest Before Game 3 Helped Cavaliers 'Cuz We Old'
May 20, 2018
Guard JR Smith said Saturday that having three days off between Game 2 and Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals was beneficial to the veteran-laden Cleveland Cavaliers.
As seen in the following video courtesy of NBA TV, Smith said the time off helped a lot "cuz we old."
After falling behind 2-0 in the series, the Cavs undoubtedly had more pep in their step en route to a 116-86 win in Game 3.
Smith failed to score in Game 2, but the 32-year-old bounced back Saturday with 11 points.
Four of the Cavaliers' starters in Game 3 are 29 or older, while only Al Horford is part of that group for the upstart Celtics.
Although the Cavs will only have one day of rest before getting back on the court for Game 4 on Monday, they now have momentum firmly on their side.
