Kevin Durant Says Stephen Curry Is 'Best Shooter to Ever Play' in NBA
Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant isn't concerned about Stephen Curry's shooting struggles through the first two games of the Western Conference Finals.
In an interview ESPN.com passed along, Durant called Curry "the best shooter to ever play." He added: "He's Steph Curry. What are we even worried about?"
Over the course of his career, Curry has made the case that he is the best shooter in NBA history. The two-time MVP holds the Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 5 spots on the list of most made three-pointers in a single season, with the record coming in 2015-16, when he drilled an astounding 402.
However, Curry is just 2-of-13 in the conference finals against the Houston Rockets and was 1-of-8 in Golden State's 127-105 loss in Game 2 on Wednesday at Toyota Center. Fortunately for the Warriors, Durant picked up the slack with 75 combined points in the two contests and helped the defending champions earn a split.
If Curry finds his stroke again and Durant continues scoring at an elevated level, the Warriors figure to be fine moving forward as they seek to make their fourth straight NBA Finals. Game 3 is Sunday night at Oracle Arena.
