Warriors, Rockets Favorites to Win 2018 NBA Title in Latest Postseason Odds

Tim DanielsMay 18, 2018

The reigning NBA champion Golden State Warriors are the prohibitive favorite to win the 2018 title in the latest betting odds released Friday during the conference finals.

OddsShark noted the Dubs are the clear top choice (-250) ahead of the Houston Rockets (+325), Boston Celtics (+900) and Cleveland Cavaliers (+1,200).

The Warriors and Rockets are tied at one game apiece in the Western Conference Finals. Golden State won Game 1 at the Toyota Center in Houston to take home-court advantage, but James Harden, Chris Paul and Co. leveled the series with a victory Wednesday night.

Although the odds continue to favor the defending champs, Warriors superstar Kevin Durant told Tim Kawakami of The Athletic after Game 2 that he doesn't expect an easy romp to another championship.

"We're not invincible. We're not the juggernauts of the NBA," he said. "We're a good team, but that's a great team on the other end as well."

Based on the current odds, the eventual winner of the West will be favored over the Eastern Conference representative in the Finals.

The Celtics won the first two games over the Cavs by a combined 38 points as the series shifts to Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland for the next two contests.
