University of Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm was forced to get a lure removed from his left leg Thursday at the Cook Medical Center in Adel, Georgia, following a fishing accident.
Jordan D. Hill of the Ledger-Enquirer reported the incident occurred during a trip with fellow student Jordan Rowe. Wise Dawg provided a picture Fromm posted in an Instagram story:
The 19-year-old Georgia native, an enthusiastic fisherman, completed 62.2 percent of his throws for 2,615 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 15 games as a freshman last season. He added three rushing scores for the Bulldogs.
He's expected to lead the Dawgs offense once again in 2018. Thursday's minor, albeit seemingly painful, injury shouldn't impact his status for the start of the campaign.
Georgia is scheduled to open the season at home against Austin Peay.
