Kobe Bryant OK with Lakers Taking LiAngelo Ball in Draft 'If It Will Help Win'
Kobe Bryant only has one goal for the Los Angeles Lakers to accomplish with the 2018 NBA draft.
"Win," the Lakers legend told TMZ Sports.
Bryant was also open to the idea of the team's drafting Lonzo Ball's brother, LiAngelo, under one condition: "If it will help win," he said.
The Lakers own pick Nos. 25 and 47 in June 21's NBA draft, both of which they acquired from other teams.
Cleveland shipped its first-round pick (No. 25) to Los Angeles in February as part of the deal involving Isaiah Thomas, Channing Frye, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. The Lakers also received the Chicago Bulls' second-round pick (No. 46), along with Jose Calderon, in 2016.
In an interview on ESPN LA 710 (h/t Lakers Nation's Trevor Lane), Ball said playing for the Lakers "is my priority, for sure."
B/R's Jonathan Wasserman noted none of the scouts he has reached out to believe Ball will play in the NBA anytime soon.
The Lakers had a 35-47 record last season. It was their fifth straight year with a losing record but their most wins since 2012-13.
