PSG President Rejects Neymar Rumours: 'He's Going to Stay Here 2,000 Percent'

Paris Saint-Germain President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has attempted to shut down rumours linking star man Neymar with a departure from the Parc des Princes this summer.

The Brazil international has been linked with a move to Real Madrid just a year on from his £200 million move to PSG from Barcelona, but Al-Khelaifi is adamant the forward is going nowhere, per Marca:

"He's going to stay here 2,000 percent. The Spanish media have spoken since October saying Neymar is not happy. It's false, and I will not respond to rumours. He has a contract and he's going to stay, and he can't be responding to everything that comes out in the media, either. I'm sure he's going to stay; he wants to stay."

Neymar, 26, is sidelined through a metatarsal injury and recently posted a message on Twitter hinting he is committed to PSG:

Domestically, the French giants have been superb in Neymar's debut season at the club. They won back the Ligue 1 title and also collected the Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue trophies.

Before picking up his injury, Neymar netted 19 goals and provided 13 assists in the French top flight in just 20 appearances.

He also scored six goals and provided three assists in the UEFA Champions League, but PSG were then knocked out of Europe's elite club competition at the last-16 stage for the second consecutive season.

Neymar was brought to PSG to help them improve their Champions League prospects after five consecutive seasons of failing to make it to the last four, let alone the final.

He failed in his first attempt, but with a contract that runs until 2022 and with a new manager set to be installed over the summer, PSG will hope Neymar's influence will make them challengers in the near future.

It seems hugely unlikely that PSG would let their world-record signing depart after just a year at the club, especially not to Real, who boast the kind of stature the French club are trying to match.

However, Al-Khelaifi's insistence Neymar will stay at PSG does not necessarily close the matter.

Per Sky Sports' Katie Shanahan, Barcelona vice-president Jordi Mestre said last July that Neymar would "200 percent" be staying at the Camp Nou. He joined PSG in August.
