Nick Diaz Says He Was 'Poisoned' Before Georges St-Pierre Fight in 2013
Nick Diaz is attributing his loss to Georges St-Pierre in March 2013 to being "poisoned" before the fight.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Diaz said he was given "some kind of weird-ass drug" in his IV prior to challenging St-Pierre for the welterweight championship at UFC 158.
The rationale Diaz provided for being poisoned is he "never slept more than five or six hours a night" during his entire fighting career, but he slept for 14 hours the night before his title bout with St-Pierre.
Diaz's comments come in the wake of UFC president Dana White saying earlier this week on the UFC Unfiltered podcast (h/t Bloody Elbow) he is attempting to put together a fight between St-Pierre and Nick's brother, Nate Diaz, at UFC 227 on Aug. 4.
After White's remarks, Nate posted a message on Facebook accusing St-Pierre of being on steroids when he fought Nick.
Nick lost to St-Pierre via unanimous decision. His only fight since that match was a no contest against Anderson Silva at UFC 183 in January 2015.
Nate's last appearance came at UFC 202 in August 2016 when he lost a majority decision to Conor McGregor.
