Big Cass Reportedly in Trouble for Going off-Script During WWE SmackDown

Joseph ZuckerMay 10, 2018

Big Cass returned from a torn ACL to WWE less than a month ago, but he may already be in trouble with company management.

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet's Ryan Satin, the segment on the go-home edition of SmackDown Live before Backlash last Sunday contained the issue. Cass brought out a little person dressed as Daniel Bryan and proceeded to run down Bryan verbally before attacking the Bryan impostor.

Satin reported Cass may have gone too far with the attack. The producers backstage only wanted him to deliver a big boot, but he continued the beatdown.

Satin noted the replay of the segment WWE posted to YouTube doesn't include the part where Cass is alleged to have gone off on his own.

If Cass did in fact defy WWE's wishes for the segment, then it wouldn't appear he has suffered any significant consequences. Although he lost to Bryan at Backlash, he attacked the former world champion after the match, which would seemingly indicate WWE wants to continue the feud.

Cass wasn't featured on the latest SmackDown Live on Tuesday night, as Bryan wrestled Rusev for an spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match. Following the show, WWE posted a backstage interview between Cass and Renee Young in which Cass took credit for helping Rusev win:

It seems plausible Bryan and Big Cass could have a return match at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view June 17.

In general, Cass' usage on SmackDown Live will give a better indication as to whether he's in WWE's doghouse.
