Nashville Reportedly Front-Runner to Host 2019 NFL Draft

Adam WellsMay 10, 2018

Nashville, Tennessee, is reportedly the leading contender to host the 2019 NFL draft.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Nashville is "looking increasingly likely" for next year's draft extravaganza.

Schefter added that if the city happens to miss out on the 2019 event, it has put itself in position to host the 2020 draft.

In an email to Jason Wolf of The TennesseanNFL spokesman Brian McCarthy noted an official announcement about next year's draft location will happen during the league's spring meetings that take place May 22-23.

The NFL announced in February that Nashville was one of five finalists being considered to host the 2019 draft. Cleveland/Canton, Kansas City, Denver and Las Vegas are the other contenders.

Nashville has been home to the Tennessee Titans since 1997 when the franchise relocated from Houston.

The NFL draft has become a marquee road event for the league since 2015. Chicago hosted the event for two years in 2015 and 2016 before giving way to Philadelphia in 2017 and Dallas in 2018.
