Atletico Madrid 'Make Contact' with Manchester City's Sergio Aguero
Atletico Madrid have reportedly reached out to former striker and current Manchester City ace Sergio Aguero's representatives in their search for a possible replacement for Antoine Griezmann.
According to Radio Marca (via Marca's Adrian Gomez), the 29-year-old didn't dismiss the Rojiblancos, but he won't entertain concrete talks before the FIFA World Cup.
Aguero has long maintained he plans to return to Argentina after his current contract ends, telling Fox Sports Argentina (h/t Calciomercato.com) he wants to play for Independiente, another former club of his.

The City forward came up through the Independiente academy before moving to Atletico in 2006, where he established himself as one of the most prolific scorers in the world. He's been with the Sky Blues since 2011, and he already ranks as the club's all-time top scorer.
According to Transfermarkt, Aguero's contract runs until 2020, at which point he should still be regarded as a top option on the open market.
Star forward Griezmann has been a persistent subject of links with Barcelona. Things have gotten so out of hand Atletico felt the need to make a public statement about the Catalans' approach, per ESPN FC's Samuel Marsden:
Team-mate Koke also isn't happy, via Goal:
Griezmann seems as good as gone in the summer, at which point Atletico will be in need of another forward and armed with the proceeds of his sale.
Manager Diego Simeone may be able to convince Aguero to delay his return to Argentina in favour of a stint with another former club, and City likely wouldn't oppose a sale if that's what he wants. Aguero has been a loyal servant for years, and the Citizens have plenty of options in attack, including the talented Gabriel Jesus.
The Sky Blues also haven't been shy of spending big in recent years, so they could add another younger option at the position in the summer.
