Ex-Colts RB Matt Jones Reportedly Signs Eagles Contract
Former Washington Redskins and Indianapolis Colts running back Matt Jones is reportedly set to sign with the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported the update Wednesday after Jones worked out with the organization Tuesday.
The 25-year-old University of Florida product was a third-round pick of the Redskins in the 2015 draft. He rushed for 950 yards on 243 carries (3.9 yards per attempt) across two seasons before Washington waived him last September.

Colts Release Kenny Moore

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
The Colts claimed him before the start of the regular season. He failed to make much of an impact, however, tallying five carries for 14 yards in five appearances. The team released him last week.
In Philadelphia, he's likely to enter a competition with Darren Sproles, Wendell Smallwood and Donnel Pumphrey for roster spots and playing time behind Jay Ajayi and Corey Clement.
Jones could struggle to secure a place on the 53-man roster unless he showcases improvement from his first three years in the league.
