LaVar Ball: 'Hell No,' Kawhi Leonard Isn't Better Than Lonzo
At least one person in the basketball world thinks Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball is better than Kawhi Leonard, and it is a predictable source.
LaVar Ball appeared on ESPN LA's Best of ESPN Los Angeles and said his son is better than the San Antonio Spurs star, via Jeff Garcia of News 4 San Antonio (h/t For The Win's Andrew Joseph).
"Stop it! ... Hell no. Lonzo, I'm gonna tell you what he does, makes everyone on the team better. Who don't want to start a team with that? You put Kawhi on there, he won't make everyone better. He's gonna do his thing. He's a specialty guy."
While Leonard played a mere nine games this season because of a quadriceps injury that led to tension between him and the Spurs organization, his resume is still stacked compared to Ball's.
Leonard is a two-time All-NBA selection, two-time Defensive Player of the Year, an NBA Finals MVP, a two-time All-Star and a four-time All-Defensive selection. Ball averaged 10.2 points and 7.2 assists per game in 52 contests as a rookie for a team that finished with a 35-47 record.
