Chelsea vs. Huddersfield: Team News, Preview, Live Stream, TV Info

Chelsea put themselves back in contention for a top-four Premier League finish in 2017-18 by beating Liverpool 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

A run of four top-flight wins in a row paired with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur's drop in domestic form has given the Blues a genuine chance of qualifying for next season's UEFA Champions League.

They are still on the back foot in the race for the top four, though, and must win their final two games of the season to give themselves the best chance of leapfrogging Liverpool or Spurs.

The Terriers will be no pushovers, not least as they have yet to guarantee safety from relegation.

They did, though, earn a creditable point at Manchester City on Sunday, holding the champions to a 0-0 draw at the Etihad Stadium.

If David Wagner's side are resolute enough to keep out Pep Guardiola's free-scoring City on their own patch, they should also be capable of frustrating Antonio Conte's Blues.

However, the reverse fixture between the two sides at the John Smith's Stadium in December ended 3-1 to Chelsea, so the hosts will be confident of earning all three points again on Wednesday.

Crucial to the Blues' upturn in results of late has been the form of Olivier Giroud.

He came off the bench and scored twice in Chelsea's 3-2 comeback win against Southampton on April 14 and netted the only goal to down Liverpool on Sunday.

Alvaro Morata looks set to be fit for the visit of Huddersfield, per injury analyst Ben Dinnery:

However, it seems unlikely the Spaniard will be handed a start by Conte as Giroud has led the line effectively recently.

Per Opta, his aerial prowess is second to none, and Huddersfield will need to be organised to keep him quiet:

Chelsea are going to have to rely on Spurs and Liverpool slipping up again if they are to secure a top-four finish this season.

All they can do, though, is make sure they earn six points from their final two games, and given their recent fine form only a brave punter would bet against them downing Huddersfield in west London.
