Chris Paul After Game 4: 'I've Been Here Before, 3-1; S--t Went Bad Real Quick'

Scott PolacekMay 6, 2018

Houston Rockets point guard Chris Paul is one win away from advancing past the second round of the playoffs for the first time in his career, but he knows better than to assume his team's series with the Utah Jazz is over despite a 3-1 lead.

In an interview with TNT's Kristen Ledlow following Houston's 100-87 victory in Sunday's Game 4 at Vivint Smart Home Arena, Paul said, "I've been here before, 3-1; s--t went bad real quick" (NSFW):

The 3-1 lead Paul was referencing was back in 2015 when he was a member of the Los Angeles Clippers. He helped propel the Clippers to a 3-1 lead over Houston in the second round before the Rockets won three straight to advance.

Teammate James Harden was on that Rockets team, and Paul had some fun with the situation at his postgame press conference:

If the nine-time All-Star continues playing like he did Sunday, though, he will see the Western Conference Finals and perhaps more this season. He finished with 27 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and two steals in the win and helped make up for eight turnovers and an 8-of-22 shooting performance from Harden.

Paul and the Rockets will have the chance to close out the Jazz at home in Tuesday's Game 5.
