Bus Transporting Fans to Kentucky Derby Involved in Crash; 1 Confirmed Dead

One person was confirmed dead Friday when a bus carrying passengers bound for Churchill Downs struck a pedestrian in Louisville, Kentucky.

According to the New York Daily NewsMegan Cerullo, the bus, which was headed to the site of Saturday's Kentucky Derby, was involved in a five-vehicle collision and hit a man in his mid-to-late 60s who was standing in a parking lot at 7th Street and Arcade Street. 

Citing Lt. Col Josh Myers of the Shively Police Department, WAVE 3's Charles Gazaway reported "a Miller Transportation bus swerved to avoid [a vehicle heading in the opposite direction] ... and hit the pedestrian, who died at the scene."

According to Gazaway, there were no injuries reported among passengers on the bus.
