Hulk Hogan WWE Return Reportedly Nearing Completion

Kyle NewportMay 4, 2018

Wrestling fans hoping to see Hulk Hogan back in the ring may not have to wait much longer.

According to TMZ Sports, Hogan and WWE have been in talks to reunite, with both sides looking to make it happen "the right way."

Hogan was fired by WWE back in July 2015 over a racist rant. He apologized for his "unacceptable" behavior, noting that the recording does not show the type of person he truly is.

WWE released a statement on Hogan, per TMZ:

"WWE applauds the work Hulk Hogan is doing with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to turn what was a negative into a positive by helping young people learn from his mistake. While he has taken many steps in the right direction since we parted ways, Hogan is not currently under contract to WWE."

This news should not come as a shock to wrestling fans. Earlier this year, the 64-year-old told TMZ Sports that he was ready for a comeback:

Back in March, though, he shut down any thought that he would make his return at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

April 8 came and went, and Hogan indeed was not a part of the festivities.

Hogan has apologized for his racial remarks, but given the sensitive nature of the incident, everyone involved in the return talks wants to make sure fans and wrestlers are all willing to welcome him back with open arms. And he is doing everything he can to show he has learned from his mistakes.

He addressed his controversial past while being honored by the Boys & Girls Club of Georgia on Wednesday and made it clear he is a better person moving forward:

Stay tuned—the WWE may soon get another dose of Hulkamania.
