Stephen Curry Will Start Game 3 vs. Pelicans After Coming Off Bench Tuesday
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr told 95.7 The Game's Damon Bruce on Wednesday that point guard Stephen Curry will be back in the starting lineup for Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Curry, who played 27 minutes off the bench Tuesday, scored 28 points in his first appearance since suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain on March 23.
"He was Steph," Kerr said after the 121-116 Game 2 win, according to the New York Times' Benjamin Hoffman. "He doesn't take long to warm up, that's for sure."
Beyond Curry scoring more than a point a minute, the Warriors outscored the Pelicans by a team-best 26 points when he was on the floor. Kevon Looney finished second among Dubs players with a mark of plus-seven in 23 minutes.
The two-time MVP will attempt to produce a repeat performance Friday at Smoothie King Center as his side eyes a commanding 3-0 series lead that would put them in the driver's seat to qualify for a fourth straight Western Conference Finals.
