Dwyane Wade Surprises Tennessee Shooting Hero James Shaw Jr. on 'Ellen'

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade appeared on The Ellen Show with Ellen DeGeneres on Monday to surprise James Shaw Jr.

Shaw gained national attention after he disarmed a gunman during a shooting at an Antioch, Tennessee, Waffle House last month in which four people died.

The 29-year-old Shaw told DeGeneres that Wade was his favorite basketball player, which led to D-Wade surprising him:

Wade told Shaw that he is the type of person he wants his children to look up to as a role model.

The 12-time All-Star and future Hall of Famer also presented Shaw with a $20,000 check, matching the amount Degeneres previously awarded Shaw courtesy of sponsor Shutterfly.
