Liverpool Transfer News: Napoli Enter Bernd Leno Race Amid Latest Rumours
Liverpool could face fierce competition in the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno as Napoli are also reportedly interested in signing him.
According to Calciomercato, the Reds and Atletico Madrid have both been linked with the German stopper, but Napoli have now made him their top summer target to replace Pepe Reina, who is set to move to AC Milan.
Bild (via Goal's Ronan Murphy) recently reported Leno is eager to depart Leverkusen at the end of the season and is available for a reasonable price, so there could end up being a three-way battle for his signature:

The goalkeeping role has long been a problem position for Liverpool.
Simon Mignolet is too error prone, while Loris Karius has regularly not looked good enough for a side with designs on winning the Premier League title.
However, the 24-year-old has been given a decent run in the side recently by manager Jurgen Klopp, starting each of Liverpool's last 17 matches in all competitions. And he has impressed.
However, it is still unclear whether Klopp believes Karius has what it takes to be Liverpool's permanent No. 1 for the foreseeable future.

If he does not the Reds need to add a new stopper in the summer, and Leno, 26, would be a fine target.
He is a Germany international and, despite his relative youth for a goalkeeper, has been Bayer's No. 1 in the Bundesliga for seven seasons.
He has already accrued over 200 appearances in the German top flight and also boasts plenty of European experience having played in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League in numerous campaigns.
The fact that Atleti and Napoli are interested in Leno is an indication of his talent, and he would arguably be a major upgrade on both Karius and Mignolet at Liverpool, even though the former has showed improvement of late.
