Real Madrid Transfer News: Real Betis Want Dani Ceballos in Latest Rumours
Real Betis are reportedly set to try to tempt Dani Ceballos back to the club after his tough first season at Real Madrid.
The young midfielder arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu ahead of the current campaign with a reputation as one of Spain's brightest stars. However, he's found minutes difficult to come by this season under manager Zinedine Zidane.
According to Jose A. Espina of AS, former club Betis will make a move to re-sign the 21-year-old in the upcoming summer window. In the piece, it's said the Andalusian side would be ready to pay €16 million to bring Ceballos in and would also be content with negotiating a buyback clause with Madrid.

"Los Verdiblancos sought to take Ceballos back to Seville on loan during the January transfer window, but saw their advances scuppered by Spanish FA regulations, as players cannot be registered twice in a single season by the same club," the report continued.
While getting game time at the Santiago Bernabeu was always going to be difficult for the youngster, few would've anticipated him making such a minimal impact in his first season at the club.

This term, Ceballos has made just three starts in La Liga. He played in Saturday's 2-1 win over Leganes, as Zidane rotated players ahead of Tuesday's UEFA Champions League semi-final with Bayern Munich.
As noted by the OptaJose account, when he has been given a chance, Ceballos has been efficient with the ball:
During his time with Betis and in the Spanish youth setup, the midfielder has shown he can be more than a lateral passer.
The best moments of Ceballos' young career so far have been when he tries to commit opponents. He has a change of pace on the ball, his feet are quick and he has previously shown the composure to pick out smart passes in dangerous areas.
Unfortunately for him, there hasn't been a consistent run of games this term for Ceballos to show what he's capable of for Los Blancos. Journalist Lucas Navarette wants to see more of the tyro:
Seeing Ceballos in the current Betis team would be intriguing, as manager Quique Setien has them playing some excellent football and steered them to fifth in the table.
In recent weeks, Betis have been extremely tight defensively, but earlier in the season, they played some vibrant attacking football. They played the type of football that would bring the best out of someone like Ceballos. Football Espana editor Colin Millar praised their recent form:
With Betis set to play in the UEFA Europa League next season, they will need to invest in their squad this summer. And getting back Ceballos, who was a fan favourite at the Estadio Benito Villamarin, would be a huge boost to everyone at the club.
Madrid would surely be hesitant about a permanent sale, as Ceballos remains one of the best prospects in the country. However, at this point they can't seem to offer the youngster the time needed to continue his development.
