Chelsea Transfer News: Kwadwo Asamoah Rumours Grow Ahead of Juventus Exit
Chelsea are reportedly picking up pace in the hunt to sign Juventus star Kwadwo Asamoah as the soon-to-be free agent prepares to leave Turin at the end of this season.
Asamoah's contract at the Allianz Stadium expires in June, and Tuttosport reported his versatility has attracted serious attention from the Blues, who appear eager to add him to their options this summer (h/t TalkSport).
He has featured primarily as a left wing-back during his time at Juve but has also performed well in central midfield and pushed further upfield in a wide role.

That malleability seems to have convinced Chelsea Asamoah is worthy of recruitment, and Italian football writer Adam Digby recently noted it could be time for Juventus to cut ties with their veteran of six years:
The 29-year-old arrived at Juventus from Udinese in 2012 and has won five Serie A trophies in Turin, not to mention finishing as runner-up in the UEFA Champions League on two occasions.
It makes sense Chelsea manager Antonio Conte would not only look back to Serie A but to former club Juventus particularly, with Asamoah well-versed in the Italian's tactics from their time at the club together.
The Blues already have a star left wing-back in Marcos Alonso but would be signing a player of different dimensions in Asamoah, who brings the added advantage of being able to play a number of positions.
However, reporter David Amoyal recently praised Asamoah and suggested there may yet be a chance for him to demonstrate his value in his current setting:
Inter Milan are said to be providing competition for Asamoah, and Gazzetta dello Sport reported the player has even begun looking for a house in Europe's fashion capital (h/t Calciomercato.com).
But London may yet be able to attract the Ghana international, who could follow compatriot Michael Essien in completing a move to Stamford Bridge in what could be a very valuable signing.
Asamoah's impending free agency is sure to see him attract a lot of attention in the summer market, and Conte looks to be one of the leading suitors as he seeks to stage a reunion in west London.
