Josh McCown's Daughter Tells Him She's Almost Jets Draft Pick Sam Darnold's Age

When the New York Jets drafted former USC star Sam Darnold with the third overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft Thursday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, it gave veteran quarterback Josh McCown a dose of reality.

Not because the rookie is expected to be the face of the franchise at some pointโ€”but because of his age.

McCown shared a text from his daughter that produced a, um, fun fact:

Having a 20-year-old teammate won't make the 38-year-old journeyman feel any younger.

McCown, who is entering his 16th season in the league,ย re-signedย with New York on a one-year deal last month. The Jets alsoย signedย veteran Teddy Bridgewater and now have Darnold. In other words, there will be plenty of competition at quarterback.ย  ย  ย ย
