IPL Results 2018: T20 Scores, Schedule, Table After Hyderabad vs. Kings XI
Sunrisers Hyderabad moved level on points at the top of the 2018 Indian Premier League standings on Thursday after they saw off a Kings XI Punjab chase attempt to beat their guests by 13 runs.
Hyderabad suffered defeat to Kings XI in Mohali last Thursday and got the redemption they sought after returning to home soil, where Manish Pandey's 54 played a big role in their run to a modest 134 total.
The Sunrisers now sit level with Kings XI and Chennai Super Kings at the summit with 10 points apiece halfway through the regular season, with hopes of a play-off future still bright for both teams.
Thursday's defeat also saw coach Brad Hodge's Kings XI side suffer their first defeat in four matches and Hyderabad take their spot in second as a result.
Ankit Rajpoot provided one bright spot for the defeated outfit, however, after he took five Sunrisers wickets for only 14, the best bowling innings of any player in the IPL this season.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (132/6) beat Kings XI Punjab (119) by 13 runs
After successfully limiting Mumbai Indians to only 87 runs on Monday, Sunrisers Hyderabad gave another masterclass in how to defend a modest lead at home to Kings XI Punjab.
Hyderabad's batch of field technicians were at their best particularly in the latter stages of Thursday's win and finished strongest to earn plaudits from statistician Mohandas Menon:
It was thanks to Rajpoot that the Sunrisers had such a task on their hands at all, however, after he removed each of the hosts' top four batsmen, Pandey being the only one who managed to score more than 11 runs.
Former Indian cricketer and analyst Aakash Chopra piled praise on the bowling display of Rajpoot, as well as the fielding nous of Kings XI when they took Sunrisers captain Kane Williamson out via a Ravichandran Ashwin catch:
The chase started extremely well for Kings XI, who after seven overs had cultivated a total of 53 and were looking good for a potential back-to-back pair of wins over Hyderabad.
But Williamson gave an astute captain's performance and composed his Hyderabad team to a deserving win, although ex-Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag noted no reason for Kings XI to panic in the face of defeat:
Most teams would prefer clear-cut victories with big scores, but Williamson said after Thursday's result there was enjoyment to be had from the smaller tallies, too, per ESPNCricinfo:
"It's nice to defend these totals, but we want to be smarter with the bat. It's not about getting 180 always, get 145, 155 and we can use our bowling to put them under pressure. The bowlers have been operated really smartly. And our fielding and energy is great. Fortunate with our bowling depth, with bowlers going out with injury but the back ups coming good. The guys have been fantastic, the way they've managed to fight, a lot of credit to the bowlers, the lengths they hit to get their wickets."
Sunrisers clawed back some much-desired honour with a revenge win over Thursday's opponents, although Chennai Super Kings can again move two points ahead at the summit when they host Mumbai Indians on Saturday.
Hyderabad are yet to be beaten on home soil this season and are in good shape midway through the season, with the 2016 IPL winners looking to stage another run at the top prize.
