Adam Schefter: People Believe Team May Have Leaked Josh Allen's Racist Tweets

There is reportedly belief that an NFL team was behind Wednesday's leaking of racially insensitive tweets posted by quarterback Josh Allen in 2012 and 2013.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, two people have theorized that a team publicized the tweets so Allen would drop in the 2018 NFL draft and fall to them.

Allen is among the top quarterbacks expected to go in the first round of the draft on Thursday night.

Per Ryan Young of Yahoo Sports, Allen deleted several tweets from his high school days, many of which included the N-word.

Allen also appeared to write, "If it ain't white, it ain't right!" in response to a question on Ask.fm.

On Wednesday night, Allen apologized for the tweets when asked about them by ESPN's Stephen A. Smith and said he was "young and dumb."

Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot reported Wednesday that the Cleveland Browns were deciding between either Allen or Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield with the No. 1 overall pick.

The New York Giants (No. 2), New York Jets (No. 3), Denver Broncos (No. 5), Miami Dolphins (No. 11), Buffalo Bills (No. 12) and Arizona Cardinals (No. 15) are among the other teams in the first half of the first round who could have interest in Allen.

Allen's physical tools have helped establish him as a coveted prospect despite spotty collegiate production in 2017, which included a completion percentage of just 56.3 percent, 1,812 passing yards, 16 touchdowns and six interceptions.

In his latest mock draft, Bleacher Report's Matt Miller predicted that Allen would slip to the Dolphins at No. 11.
