Vytautas HC: LaVar Ball, Sons LiAngelo, LaMelo 'Came Here to Make a Show'

Mike ChiariApr 26, 2018

BC Vytautas head basketball coach Virginijus Seskus commented on the departure of LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball on Wednesday.

Seskus said the following to 15min.lt (h/t ESPN.com) regarding LaVar Ball's decision to pull his sons from the team before the end of the season: "It's just another proof they came here to make a show, not for basketball. It's sad they didn't understand what we gave them. We understand how they helped us, but they don't."

ESPN's Chris Haynes reported Wednesday that LiAngelo and LaMelo ended their stints with the Lithuanian team since they are both injured and only two games remain in the campaign.

Seskus' comments may have been referring to Ball in the Family, a Facebook Watch reality show that will feature the time LiAngelo and LaMelo spent in Lithuania.

While LiAngelo already filed paperwork to enter the 2018 NBA draft, there was question whether LaMelo would return to Vytautas next season.

LaVar shot down that possibility, telling 15min.lt: "You really ask me this? Coach ruined everything, and he'll have to pay the price that Melo is not coming back."

LaMelo played sparingly at times and finished his run with Vytautas averaging 6.5 points in 12 minutes per game. LiAngelo was one of the team's top players, however, averaging 12.6 points in 22 minutes per contest.

Although LiAngelo will attempt to carve out a career for himself in the NBA, LaVar has yet to announce what LaMelo—who originally committed to UCLA—will do next season.
