Baker Mayfield Tweets Picture Recreating Brett Favre's Iconic Draft-Day Photo
Baker Mayfield is spending the NFL draft with his family instead of attending the festivities at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and he took time Wednesday to commemorate the occasion by recreating Brett Favre's iconic 1991 draft-day photo.
Mayfield posted the image on Twitter with a quote from Favre reading: "There are those people who are in your corner no matter what, you can't do any wrong, even when you do wrong. And then there are those people that no matter what you do they're going to dislike you and that's not going to change."
On Thursday morning, Favre responded to Mayfield's recreation:
Mayfield is widely expected to be drafted in the top half of Round 1 on Thursday night, but he likely won't be seen much on TV. According to Deadspin's Tom Ley, images from ESPN's draft headquarters suggest the reigning Heisman Trophy winner declined an invitation to participate in a live shot.
Bleacher Report draft expert Matt Miller has Mayfield listed as the 12th-ranked player overall on his big board and the fourth-ranked quarterback behind Sam Darnold, Josh Allen and Josh Rosen.
