Chris Harris Doesn't Want Broncos to Draft QB No. 5 Overall: 'Trying to Win Now'
Cornerback Chris Harris would prefer to see the Denver Broncos not use the No. 5 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft on a quarterback.
Per Mike Klis of 9News, Harris said Tuesday the Broncos need "somebody who can come in and make an impact" because they are "trying to win now."
Harris was very upfront about his mindset with the Broncos coming off a disappointing 5-11 record last season.
"I would say pissed off man," Harris said, via NFL Network's James Palmer. "Just angry. This whole offseason I've been mad."
B/R's Matt Miller projects the Broncos to select 2017 Heisman winner Baker Mayfield with their first draft choice in his most recent mock draft.
The Broncos did give free-agent quarterback Case Keenum a two-year deal in March. He is coming off a career year with 3,547 yards and 22 touchdowns in 15 games to help the Minnesota Vikings reach the NFC Championship Game.
Since winning the Super Bowl in 2015, Denver has gone 14-18 with no playoff appearances over the past two seasons.
