Liverpool Transfer News: AS Roma Deny Alisson Becker Exit Rumours
AS Roma president James Pallotta has said even a "sack of money" won't be enough to sign goalkeeper Alisson Becker amid ongoing rumours linking the Brazilian with Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Speaking to Sky Italia (via Goal's Chris Burton), Pallotta made it clear Alisson is not for sale at any price right now:
"Alisson? I don’t have any intention of selling Alisson. I know that several clubs have said that they want him, Liverpool being one of them, but he has a contract with us.

"I’m sure some team will come up with a sack of money to sign him, but for now the decision lies with the coach and Monchi, and we don’t want to sell him.
"He’s an important pillar, with whom we want to build. We want players like him. Sales? If we thought about selling [Miralem] Pjanic and [Mohamed] Salah, it was because we didn’t have a choice."

MailOnline's Anthony Hay reported on the Reds' interest ahead of Tuesday's UEFA Champions League clash between the two teams, with claims Roma value the 25-year-old at £62 million and the tie between the two clubs could function as an audition of sorts.
These comments from Pallotta appear to suggest that's not the case, however.
Alisson only became Roma's unquestioned starter after the departure of Wojciech Szczesny in the summer, but he quickly made his mark on the Giallorossi. He's been the best goalkeeper in Serie A this season, as well as a huge reason for Roma's success in Europe:
He has also become Brazil's preferred choice in goal, keeping the impressive Ederson of Manchester City on the bench.
Both Liverpool and Real Madrid have been named as clubs who could seek an upgrade in goal during the summer, although Loris Karius has impressed of late, making the Reds' needs in goal less pressing.
According to Hay, manager Jurgen Klopp would only sanction a big-money move for Alisson if he believed the stopper could push his team over the top and make them real title contenders.

There's little doubt the athletic Alisson has that kind of talent, however.
The former Internacional stopper has rare speed in between the sticks and routinely makes incredible saves look easy, like this one against Genoa:
Roma have sold plenty of key players in the last few years, including the aforementioned Szczesny, Miralem Pjanic and Mohamed Salah, who will face his former club on Tuesday.
