Brandon Brooks Says He Restructured Contract for 'F--king SB MVP' Nick Foles

Rob GoldbergApr 23, 2018

The Philadelphia Eagles wanted to reward Nick Foles with a restructured contract, and Brandon Brooks was happy to oblige, as he announced on Twitter (Warning: NSFW language):

As Field Yates of ESPN explained, the guard converted his base salary into bonuses to create $6.37 million in cap space for the Eagles.

Foles in turn received his own new deal, with Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reporting an extra $2 million in signing bonus for the quarterback. He will also have the chance to earn a lot more with incentives.

While Carson Wentz is still presumably the starting quarterback in Philadelphia when healthy, Foles helped the team thrive after Wentz went down with a torn ACL. The 29-year-old went 2-1 as a starter in the regular season and then led the squad to three straight wins in the playoffs, earning MVP honors of the Super Bowl LII win over the Patriots.

Although Brooks started every game for the Eagles last season and earned his first Pro Bowl appearance, he still gave credit to the quarterback who helped give him a ring.
