John Wall on Wizards After Game 4 Win vs. Raptors: 'We Got a Lot of Fight in Us'
The Washington Wizards have fought back from down 0-2 to even the series against the Toronto Raptors 2-2, something that isn't much of a surprise to point guard John Wall.
Wall discussed the team's mentality when asked about the ability to overcome adversity after the game, via NBA TV:
"We got a lot of fight in us," he said. "When we go down 0-2, a lot of people write us off, saying we can't win a game, we gonna get swept. But I guess when the pressure is on us, we like to step up to the plate."
Toronto won the first two games of the seven-game series, but Washington has won back-to-back at home to keep the season alive. In Game 4 Sunday, the team overcame an 11-point halftime deficit to win 106-98.
The Wizards also fought back to even the series from down 0-2 in the second round last season against the Boston Celtics, but they eventually fell in seven games. While the organization has reached the Eastern Conference semifinals three times with Wall and Bradley Beal on the roster, it hasn't won a single series where they trailed at any point.
This will be the true test against the No. 1 seeded Raptors. Washington has shown it can play with the best in the conference, but completing the comeback will be a tougher challenge.
Meanwhile, the squad will have to win at least one game on the road in order to advance, which won't be easy considering Toronto is 36-7 at home so far this year. The Wizards have won eight straight playoff games at home but have a losing record away from Capital One Arena this season.
Wall seems confident in the team's mentality, but there is still a long way to go.
