Markieff Morris Fined $25,000 for Pushing Referee During Game 3 vs. Raptors
The NBA fined Washington Wizards forward Markieff Morris for shoving a referee during Friday's Eastern Conference playoff Game 3 against the Toronto Raptors.
Per an official release from the NBA, Morris was docked $25,000 for "attempting to escalate an altercation and pushing a game official" in Washington's 122-103 win at Capital One Arena.
The incident with Morris occurred early in the first quarter. He got up after falling to the ground and got into a shoving match with OG Anunoby and other Raptors players.
A referee attempted to intervene in the situation, leading to Morris shoving him out of the way. Morris and Anunoby received double-technical fouls on the play, but neither player was ejected.
Morris finished the game with seven points and one rebound in 18 minutes. The Wizards cut their series deficit to 2-1 with Friday's win and have a chance to tie the series on Sunday at home.
