In the official announcement, the Dolphins called it a "historically modern" design.

"The uniforms are very much a visual representation of the organization—built on a winning tradition in a modern, creative, and aspirational place like Miami," the team wrote. "Simplicity and the most vibrant color palette in the NFL—aqua and orange."

The Dolphins noted a jersey schedule, including a special throwback design for "big games," for the 2018 season will be released "soon."
