'GLOW' Season 2 Release Date Announced by Netflix

Netflix announced Wednesday the second season of the critically acclaimed series GLOW will debut June 29.

The GLOW Twitter account officially made the announcement via the following video:

GLOW is based on Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, which was a promotion that brought women's wrestling to the forefront on television in the 1980s.

The current GLOW series stars Alison Brie as main character Ruth Wilder and Marc Maron as GLOW creator Sam Sylvia.

Also, several current and former wrestlers were involved in the first season, including former Impact Wrestling and WWE star Awesome Kong (also known as Kharma).

GLOW received a positive review from 95 percent of users on Rotten Tomatoes, and it was a candidate for several awards, including Brie's Golden Globe nomination for best actress in a television series.
