Mike ChiariApr 15, 2018

On Saturday, TMZ Sports released audio from a 911 call following Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton's April 6 car crash in Atlanta.

In the call, Newton simply said, "I need the police," before describing the incident to the dispatcher. He also assured the dispatcher there were no injuries.

Per TMZ Sports, a utility truck rear-ended Newton's $300,000 Ferrari F12.

Despite initially asking to file a police report, the 28-year-old reportedly decided against doing so after police arrived.

Newton was involved in a more serious car crash in December 2014. Although he suffered two transverse process fractures in his lower back, he missed just one game.

The three-time Pro Bowler and one-time MVP is no worse for wear this time around, and he will look to build upon a 2017 season in which he helped lead the Panthers back to the playoffs.
