Jim Kelly Discharged from Hospital After Surgery to Remove Cancer from Jaw
Buffalo Bills legend Jim Kelly was discharged from a New York City hospital Saturday following a March surgery to remove cancer from his upper jaw.
Jill Kelly, the Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback's wife, provided the update on Instagram:
Dr. Mark Urken told Mike Rodak of ESPN.com that Kelly had an "extremely favorable recovery" after his third separate treatment for cancer. The 58-year-old Pittsburgh native also underwent jaw surgery in 2013 and chemotherapy in 2014 when cancer spread to his sinus.

"The speed of that process, considering the extensive nature of his surgery, was a function of his toughness, the firmness of his resolve, his faith and the support of his family," Urken said. "All of those factors will continue to serve him well as he moves on to the next phase of his rehabilitation."
Kelly announced the cancer returned in a March 1 statement.
"As our family has faced many trials and triumphs throughout the years, you have blessed us with your prayers. We are asking for those prayers once again," he said. "With all of you by my side, we will fight and win this battle together."
The news came less than two months after Kelly achieved his goal of walking his daughter, Erin, down the aisle during her wedding ceremony.
