No. 88 has a long and illustrious history with the Cowboys. Drew Pearson donned it for his 11-year career from 1973 to 1983. He was inducted into the team's Ring of Honor in 2011.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin also sported the number during his tenure with the Cowboys from 1988 to 1999. "The Playmaker" won three Super Bowl titles and was named to the Pro Bowl five times.

Hurns has worn No. 88 since his NFL debut with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2014.
