Bayern Munich Transfer News: Robert Lewandowski's Agent on Real Madrid Rumours

Gill ClarkApr 13, 2018

Robert Lewandowski's agent, Pini Zahavi, has given a fresh update on the striker's future amid ongoing speculation linking the Bayern Munich star with a summer move to Real Madrid.

"Robert's transfer is a difficult and delicate operation. Nobody can say whether Lewandowski will be here or there. Nothing has been decided yet," he told Polish newspaper Przeglad Sportowy (h/t AS).

AS said it is Zahavi's "mission" to see Lewandowski move to Real Madrid, and the Spanish publication added the striker is a top transfer priority for Zinedine Zidane's side.

Bayern Munich have already responded to speculation over their star striker, who has scored 35 goals for the club this season.

President Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has made his view quite clear, per ESPN FC's Mark Lovell:

Manager Jupp Heynckes was even stronger in his words about the chances of Lewandowski moving to Madrid, per Agence France-Presse's Spanish football correspondent Tom Allnutt:

The striker is set to face Real Madrid before the end of the season, as the two sides were drawn together in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Lewandowski could be the difference in the tie, per Lovell:

Despite Bayern's insistence that Lewandowski will not leave for Real Madrid, the speculation refuses to go away. Zahavi's latest comments will likely only ensure the rumours continue.

Much may depend on how both clubs finish the season and whether Lewandowski wins the Champions League for the first time in his career. Victory for Real Madrid over Bayern may help tempt the striker to the Santiago Bernabeu to land a trophy that has so far eluded him.

Bayern will not want a player of Lewandowski's standing to leave and are not easily bullied in the transfer market. However, Real Madrid have the financial might to make a move happen, and if Lewandowski makes it clear he wants to leave the German champions, they may struggle to keep hold of him.
