Manchester United Transfer News: Ander Herrera Discusses Exit Rumours
Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has spoken about his future and said he does not know whether he will sign a new deal at Old Trafford.
The midfielder has spoken to the club but has yet to make a decision, per Mundo Deportivo (h/t Sport Witness):
"I am going to fulfil the year that I have left but I don’t know if I will renew. We have started talking, although nothing has been decided yet. Obviously, I am happier when I play, but it also comforts me to be physically well, to train to the fullest and go home with the assurance of having given everything."

The 28-year-old is contracted to the club until summer 2019 after the Red Devils triggered a clause to extend his deal by 12 months in January, per James Ducker at the Telegraph.
Herrera has struggled for game time under Jose Mourinho this season and has made just nine Premier League starts. However, he was injured for a period and was selected for Saturday's Premier League win over Manchester City. He described that game as one of the best of his career, per Indy Football:
The midfielder collected an assist for United's first goal, as he chested down the ball for Paul Pogba to score and spark United's comeback.
Football writer Liam Canning said he is the right player for big matches:
Herrera may not be a regular at Old Trafford, but he remains an important part of the squad.
Ciaran Kelly at the Manchester Evening News highlighted how the Spain international is being used under Mourinho:
Herrera's commitment to the cause is evident, and he is an intelligent player who seems to have earned Mourinho's trust.
He said recently he wants to keep playing for Manchester United, as the club's Twitter account showed:
However, competition for places is fierce at Old Trafford, and whether Herrera will be content to continue to spend so much time on the bench remains to be seen. United will also be aware that if he does not sign another contract, he would be able to walk away for free next summer.
