CM Punk to Fight Mike Jackson at UFC 225
UFC has officially announced CM Punk will make his return to the Octagon on June 9 against Mike Jackson at UFC 225.
Per the organization's press release, Punk vs. Jackson will be a welterweight bout at Chicago's United Center.
UFC President Dana White has been talking about employing Punk again for some time, most recently telling TMZ Sports last week that Jackson was the opponent they were looking to secure for the former WWE champion.
In February, when the UFC announced its first pay-per-view event in Chicago, Punk sent out a cryptic tweet with two emojis:
After leaving WWE in 2014, Punk made his mixed martial arts debut at UFC 203 in September 2016. Mickey Gall defeated him via first-round submission.
The 33-year-old Jackson was also submitted by Gall in his first MMA fight at UFC Fight Night 82 in February 2016.
Punk vs. Jackson will be a featured match on the UFC 225 undercard, which will be headlined by middleweight champion Robert Whittaker, who'll defend his title against Yoel Romero.
