
Floyd Mayweather Jr. Present at Shooting That Injured Boxer's Bodyguard
A man who said he is a bodyguard for Floyd Mayweather Jr. was shot outside an Atlanta hotel early Monday morning.
According to a TMZ report, the shooting happened around 3 a.m. ET outside the InterContinental hotel in Buckhead. Police said the victim's vehicle was targeted:
"After losing the vehicle that was following them, the victim's vehicle drove to Grady Hospital, where the victim was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg and is in stable condition.
"At this time, it appears that this was not a random shooting and the shooter was targeting the victim's vehicle.
"The victim advised that he is a bodyguard for Floyd Mayweather."
Mayweather was reportedly in one of three vehicles at the scene. He was not injured, and it's not clear whether he was the target of the shooter.
The police report said the assailant fired "several" shots at the vehicle. No other injuries were reported.
The bodyguard has not been publicly identified at this time.
