Bayern Munich's veteran wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are reportedly both close to agreeing contract extensions at the club.
Both players have deals that are set to run out at the end of the campaign, although according to Kicker (h/t Marca), they are set to put pen to paper on one-year extensions at the Allianz Arena.
It's suggested by Kicker that both Ribery and Robben are aware they will not play as often moving forward, with the two men 35 and 34 years old, respectively.
The players have been vital to Bayern's success in recent years domestically and in Europe. Ribery and Robben both celebrated another title with the Munich club this weekend, making it six in a row in Germany's top flight.
While they may no longer be as crucial as they once were, the evergreen duo of Ribery and Robben have shown this season they can both still make an impact at the highest level.
This season Ribery has only featured 19 times for Bayern in the league but has performed well to grab five goals and an assist. The Frenchman was especially impressively recently in the 6-0 win over rivals Borussia Dortmund.
FC Bayern US' Cristian Nyari reflected on what has been an incredible career for Ribery so far and a special triumph for him on Saturday:
Robben has five goals and five assists from his 20 Bundesliga outings this term and his ability to dart inside from the right flank remains a hallmark of Bayern's attacking play.
The challenge for Bayern will be replacing these players in the long term, as they've each set such consistent and high standards on the flanks for so many years. There'll be an onus on Kingsley Coman to step up his game, while Serge Gnabry, on loan at Hoffenheim, is making exciting strides.
As noted by WhoScored.com, the former Arsenal youngster has been tearing up the Bundesliga:
It appears as though Ribery and Robben will be around in Munich for a while yet, though, and that will delight Bayern supporters. With a new boss potentially coming in this coming summer, having the experienced duo around will be crucial to the club in an important season.
The wing duo will also hope to finish this campaign on a high. In addition to their Bundesliga title, Bayern are still in the hunt for the DFB-Pokal and the UEFA Champions League.
