Naomi became the first-ever WrestleMania women's Battle Royal winner after last eliminating Bayley on Sunday at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

Bayley thought she had the match won when she tossed Sasha Banks over the top rope, putting further strain on their relationship.ย However, Naomi had never been eliminated and returned to the ring to find a dumbfounded Bayley. Naomi hit the Rear View on the former NXT champion and threw her to the outside for the victory.

The bigger story is the deteriorating friendship between Banks and Bayley. The two worked together well throughout much of the match, but that didn't stop Bayley from eliminating her friend and former rival.

The Battle Royal will likely become part of their continuing storyline Monday night on Raw, especially with the camera lingering on both stars after the Battle Royal:

Although Putting Banks and Bayley in a singles match would've allowed their rivalry to grow on a large stage, their involvement in the Battle Royal still helped to build momentum for what will be their eventual pay-per-view clash.

The Battle Royal also showcased some of the talent from NXT that will eventually make the jump to the main roster. Peyton Royce led a cheer for the developmental brand after some NXT stars ran roughshod over the competition in the ring:

Former NXT women's champion Ember Moon was absent, however, a night after losing her title to Shayna Baszler at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans. Moon represented NXT in the first-ever women's Royal Rumble match, but WWE may be saving her next main-roster appearance for a more momentous occasion.

Carmella will want to quickly forget the women's Battle Royal, as she was the first person eliminated in the match. Ms. Money in the Bank may end up having the last laugh, though, if she she cashes in her opportunity for a world title shot.
